From Speak, Brother
"Combined with the driving melodies and infectious hooks, these songs stay with you long after hearing them."
Loretta Andrews, Drive Time, Premier Radio
Showcasing acoustic driven, harmony rich anthems along with their intimate, mellow story songs - 'Speak, Brother' invite you into their living room, dismissing superficialities and pretence, to share real stories of hope and pain. Their music "moves you, the honesty in the lyrics is refreshing – it both challenges and inspires the listener." (Premier Radio).
The 3 Piece Folk / Indie band, fronted by James Herring, were informally known as the James Herring Band until the end of 2013. Now, they take a joint musical leap forward together showcasing their own blend of the rising neo-folk scene. They've been compared to "Athlete and Mumford & Sons" (Cross Rhythyms) and inspired by the likes of Ben Howard, Laura Marling, Kate Rusby and Kings of Leon.
The trio have enjoyed the grandeur of large city festivals such as Birmingham Artsfest (200,000), Coventry's Godiva (175,000), the main stage at Banbury Folk Festival and Folk On The Water to name a few, and embraced the intimacy of the many coffee shops, folk clubs and bars in the midlands and beyond. Continuing this year in the same vein, 'Speak, Brother' are poised to release a set of fresh new singles in the coming months each with their own video.
