SLV is the musical project of multi-instrumentalist songwriters Sandra Lilia Velásquez and Sean Dixon. Velasquez is the founder of the critically acclaimed Latin band Pistolera, which released three studio albums and toured extensively in the USA and abroad. Sean Dixon is the drummer for the experimental electronic band Zammuto. Together the pair recorded the SLV debut EP, Dig Deeper, produced by ten-time Grammy nominee and legendary bassist Meshell Ndegeocello, who plays bass on three of the songs and co-wrote one.
SLV debuted at Joe’s Pub in New York City in early 2013 of which music site Feast Of Music hailed, “SLV transported the audience to a different time and place… her energy blanketed the audience… Leaving the deepest impression was SLV’s absolute authenticity.” The band has been featured on NPR, WNYC, and USA TODAY and toured the west and east coasts last year. The band has been performing as a trio with a laptop and listeners can expect what the Brooklyn Academy of Music described as, "moody, intensely personal pop songs with a subtle electronic edge."
