Having a love for music from a young age, songwriter Seth Power began playing piano at the age of 8 years old, followed by guitar at the age of 10. It was around 14 when he started writing and recording his own music and his passion grew from there. In the years to follow, Power began playing open mics and local, high school talent competitions. After a brief stint of college football, he continued this pattern throughout his college years and played as much as he possibly could in his home state of Mississippi. Shortly after graduating from Mississippi State University, he signed with a local, independent label and released his first single. After a short time with them, he decided to continue his career as an independent artist and released his first studio EP, “Magnolia Soul,” an album that was inspired by a tough, 2-year period of love, loss, and learning. His musical style is drenched in blues undertones, no doubt due to his Mississippi upbringing, but he also pulls upon a unique blend of pop, RnB, soul, and singer-songwriter inspirations like John Mayer, James Taylor, Hozier, Bill Withers, and a broad host of other eclectic artists. Power begins his next round of releases with his new single, “Closure,” and will be releasing his most extensive catalog of music to date by the Spring of 2019.
