From Mac MacKenzie
Mac MacKenzie is ragamuffin poet, essayist, musician, penny philosopher, emerging minimalist and slow-life advocate. He speaks, writes and sings in English and Gaelic. He likes to dream and tell big fish stories. He likes God and God likes him too.
Mac produces two online journals: Diary Of An Arts Farmer, an online creative journal exploring the intersection of life, faith, art and community and Among The White Lilies, an online collection of weekly spiritual reflections and meditations.
His first book of poetry, Diary Of An Arts Farmer: Exploring The Intersection Of Life, Faith, Art & Community, a coffee table style collection of sacred poetry and original photography by Stephanie Loewen of Red Rock Photography was released November, 2012 and is available in print and audiobook formats.
Mac has released numerous recordings including several originally penned Celtic and Ethno-Celt singles featuring the beautifully haunting sound of the Uilleann Pipes, several singles featuring the native flute, ‘The Peace Project: Music For Prayer, Meditation, Movement and Healing, ’and an EP recording with the Celtic band ‘An Realt’ (Irish for ‘The Star’), including the heartwarming title track, ‘Dancing in the Morning.’
His work has appeared on radio, television and in film.
Mac is a member of the American Federation of Musicians (AFM) and the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers (SOCAN).
