Murder ballads have always been popular in my family. My grandfather on my mom's side was such a big fan that the family would listen to them around the record player in the evening. So I guess it was natural that my mom's first words were "Tom Dooley." My dad and I share the same morbid sense of humour and love of old school country and bluegrass. We wrote "The Stream Ran Red" together last winter while cutting down the Christmas Tree. In this EP you'll hear my take on the good old-fashioned morbid storytelling so common in traditional country and bluegrass. Enjoy!
