"Just call it country"

That’s what Justin Bogart would say if you asked him what kind of music he plays. He grew up on the new traditional country of the 80’s and 90’s. Artists like George Strait, Alan Jackson, Marty Stuart, Clint Black, Dwight Yoakum and others steeped in the Bakersfield and Honkey Tonk sounds were some of his early influences. In high school he discovered The Eagles, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and other roots rock bands that challenged his perceptions of what was rock & roll and what was country. In college his voice as a song writer was developed by listening to troubadours like Radney Foster, Bruce Robison and Rodney Crowell. Today, some of his songs have a honkey-tonk twang, some scream the roadhouse blues, but it’s all country if you ask him.
