In January of 2016, two composers, Josh Stewart & Dan Snyder used a cabin within the deep woods of the Appalachians to create a collection of works inspired wholly by the snow capped mountains surrounding them and the cabin they were in. All of these songs were birthed there, with no pre-conceived ideas of what would happen, or what the end result would sound like. From using random items found in the cabin to create percussion, all the way to sound designed pads from recordings of the wind, 1850 is a sonic example of organic creativity.
