From Johnny Chops & The Razors
Born in Lubbock, Texas into a musical family, Johnny “Chops” Richardson lives in Austin with his wife, Andy and their two stubborn rescued Bassett hounds, Reggie and Emmylou. Johnny lives and breathes music, in particular, the craft of songwriting. While playing bass with the Randy Rogers Band since 2002, he has landed several songs on the band’s albums, including Ten Miles Deep, Last Last Chance, Shotgun and Wicked Ways, which was chosen to perform on the band’s appearance on Late Night with David Letterman. His first foray into a solo career, 2013’s Sticks & Stones was called by NoDepression.com“Predatory rockabilly, swampy blues, all garage spit and polished.” He is currently wrapping up production on his follow up with Reckless Kelly guitarist and producer David Abeyta. The new album seeks to establish a signature sound, featuring bluesy grit and soulful vocals backed by an all star band, The Razors. Keep your eyes and ears open for their new single and more tour dates coming this fall.
