Back of the book: Gene DeVries, daughter of pioneer missionaries to the Philippines, met Russ Ebersole at Wheaton College. After graduation, marriage, and graduate school, they spent ten happy, fruitful years of missionary service in the Philippines. When Gene died after a three-and-a-half-year battle with cancer, Russ was left with five small children. Nancy Goodman met Harry Goehring at Bryan College. They married as Harry began studies at Grace Seminary. God led them to work among the tribal people of East Pakistan (now Bangladesh). After only two years of ministry, Harry died suddenly, and Nancy was widowed at 27 with three small children. Four years after the deaths of their mates, in 1969, God led Russ and Nancy together and blended their families. "Interwoven" describes the many threads God used to weave together the lives of the people in this book and includes some unusual situations such as a hijacking to Communist China.
