Gregory Thomas Hügel is a New England Pianist, Synthesist and Composer. Influenced from an early age by French Impressionism, Hügel works in tandem within the Acoustic and Electronic mediums. Classically-trained, he seeks to create honest narratives through the Postmodern and Minamal approaches.
It could be said his love of the cold came from being born in Winchester, Massachusetts to American-born Irish and German parents during the dead of Winter. By the age of 2 he was already a well acquainted friend with the family's upright piano that rested at their 10 Lawrence Street residence.
With the good fortune of being raised in the outlying suberbs of Boston, trips made to the corner of Huntington and Mass Ave to hear the Symphony were commonplace.
In 2006 an audition for a scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music would ultimately change the course of Gregory's life. For all the better.
Today Hügel resides in Los Angeles with his wife and soon-to-be child.
