DJ SUN JUNKIE teams up with Billboard Award winning Top 40 dance chart topper Cece Peniston and new artist Daiyon to release the first single “Piece Of That” from his debut Dance/R&B compilation album "Dance,Love,Live". DJ Sun Junkie is the next generation of upcoming DJ’s and producers. His chart topping produced song “Georgia”, performed by Ludacris and Field Mobb featurng Jamie Foxx, received a Grammy nomination for best hip-hop collaboration along with the first track “Warning” off of Ludacris’ “Release Therapy” album that won a Grammy for “Best Rap Album Of The Year”.
Cece Peniston In the early 90’s was one of the most successful dance club artists in the history of the U.S. Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play, scoring five number one hits in the chart within three years. Her signature song “Finally” (#5 in the Hot 100 and #2 in UK Top 75) became one of the biggest dance singles, selling three million copies Worldwide. October 1991, Billboard magazine announced that Peniston was the leading nominee in the Billboard Music Awards, being nominated in four categories: three times in the dance category with "Finally" (Best New Artist, Best Female Artist and Best Director), and one in the R&B/Rap category (Best Female Artist) for her urban hit "Keep On Walkin'". Ultimately the song won two Billboard awards, and three of her singles released in 1992 were listed also within the Top 100 songs of the Billboard Year-End chart (at No.#20 with "Finally", at No.#61 with "Keep On Walkin'", and at No.#97 with "We Got a Love Thang"). In the UK, Peniston was listed as the 20th of Top Selling Singles Artists in 1992.
Sun Junkie has production credits on numerous #1 Billboard chart topping albums and was blessed to receive two platinum plaques in his first official year as a freshman in the recording industry. Sun Junkie also has production credits with Grammy Award winning writer Harold Lily who’s writer credits include “You Don’t Know My Name” for Alicia Keys and many other top 40 hits from multi-platinum artist. Harold and Sun’s collaboration “Po Pimpin” performed by Ayana appeared in Ushers Movie “In The Mix”. Sun’s guest appearances as a DJ and as a producer include BET’s “106 and Park”, BET’s “Rap City - The Basement”, “Fox - In The Morning” and National Lampoon’s Spring Break Tours - South Padre & Las Vegas. Sun’s new hip hop artist Daiyon has been creating a buzz receiving some great support and feedback from DJ’s and tastemakers Worldwide. Daiyon’s single “HANDS UP” climbed to #2 above Flo Rida, Nicki Minaj, Will.I.Am, David Guetta, and Jessie J, on Kiss Fm's stations (99.4 & 102.5 (Canaries), Kiss Fm 91.6 (Sweden) Top 10 charts , KissFMlive.com, TopRadio (Belgium) and other Intrernational radio markets. “Hands Up” also charted in the top 10 of major record pools including the Urban/Indy Hip Hop Charts, Major Release Charts and Crossover Charts.
