From Chuva Boa
Chuva Boa started out as long time collaborators Colleen Kitchen and Laura Zaerr experimenting to see if they could do jazz on the pedal harp and piano. A normal harpist would run screaming in the opposite direction, but virtuoso Eastman trained harpist Laura Zaerr rose to the challenge. Brazilian jazz and choro were Laura's favorites to play, and you need percussion for Brazilian, so Kevin Ronkko joined the ensemble. After they had played out a bit and recorded a trio project, bassist Ron Green joined to make Chuva Boa an innovative and always surprising quartet.
