PASTE Magazine Review [published 5/18/17]:

Brady Toops shares his new live performance video with us for “I Can’t Make You Love Me,” which came to fame by Bonnie Raitt. The touching cover shows the brilliance of Toops as a performer, and as a name to watch out for in 2017.

Toops says regarding the piece:

“Life has a way of giving us what we need - just the right amount of pain and just the right amount of love to help wake us up. At least that's been my experience over the last couple of years as I wrote and recorded my latest record "Tried & True". The people, the stories, the songs - they both killed me and saved me."

"Recently releasing his latest endeavor “Tried & True,” the ambitious album is filled with melodic navigations through the darkness of heartbreak and the light of love.

On tracks such as “Love On My Mind,” Brady wastes no time expressing the beauty in the thought of love. His voice transcends genres with hints of baritone blues, coupled with perfect faint background vocals.

The title track, “Tried & True” has a gospel-infused undertone, in which Brady eloquently presents himself as a living testimony of someone who’s seen the good and not so good sides of love and life, but still remembers his roots.

On “Gone” Brady’s sultry vocals beckon you to hold on, while expressively confirming the painful side of love and the need to let go. It’s an oxymoron of beauty.

In the end, “Tried & True,” isn’t happy and it isn’t sad; it’s an emotional evolution of a man filled with humility and in love with life." [https://www.pastemagazine.com/articles/2017/05/brady-toops-shares-captivating-video-for-i-cant-make-you-love-me234.html]
