“Musical ideas begin in the heart; in the head; in the soul. They are like prisoners trapped inside of us waiting to be set free. Creativity resides in each of us and I believe in some way it is our responsibility to find a way to let that creativity loose.” - BassKamp

Having caught fire as an EDM fan during the electronic music explosion of the mid-90s, BassKamp was intrigued by these new sounds he heard. Influenced early on by artists such as The Chemical Brothers, The Crystal Method and The Prodigy, as well as Aphex Twin, BT, and Moby, he began looking for ways to create some of these sounds himself. As time passed the list grew to include artists ranging from Imogen Heap to Nero and many in between; all the while he secretly pined for the opportunity to share his own creations. “I’ve written and produced songs for years now and it’s always been a dream of mine to share them with others.”

While BassKamp’s music could be described as drum ‘n’ bass, dubstep, or downtempo, he likes to take liberties and experiment; not only with the inclusion of exotic, world instruments that aren’t as common in mainstream EDM, but also with tempo. “I recognize the benefit of set tempo ranges in dance music, but when I sit down to create a song, I just play what I like and don’t always allow tempo to dictate the direction.”

“It’s a fundamental part of my belief system that the abilities I have are derived ultimately from God. I believe that the creative spark inside all of us is a reflection, or even perhaps an extension, of God’s creativity. So as I labor to set these ideas free, my goal is that the honor and credit go to the One who made it possible for me to do what I love.” - BassKamp
