Vanguard/Sugar Hill Records
Vanguard Records started in 1953 as a jazz label in Chicago and diversified into a folk and classical label throughout the 70’s. Today Vanguard maintains its legacy as a historically eclectic record label with musical legends like Levon Helm and Merle Haggard, modern-day trailblazers like the Indigo Girls and Chris Isaak; cutting-edge singer/songwriters like Matt Nathanson and Mindy Smith; indie rock songwriters like Greg Laswell and Robert Francis; and adventurous iconoclasts like Isobel Campbell and The Living Sisters.
Twenty-five years and counting, Sugar Hill maintains the tradition of integrity and quality, even as it explores new frontiers in music. Today, the eclectic Sugar Hill roster includes adventurous artists such as Nickel Creek, The Duhks, Sonny Landreth, Scott Miller and Sam Bush, as well as award-winning traditionalists like Dolly Parton, and Tim O'Brien.
