The Lighthouse and the Whaler is an band from Cleveland, Ohio, with what MTV describes as "really cool melodic folk rock... and a live show you've got to check out for yourself."
Following up on the success of their self-released album "This is an Adventure" and its hit song "Venice," the band spent six weeks in Montreal recording their new album with Marcus Paquin (Stars, Local Natives, Arcade Fire). The result is their upcoming LP "Mont Royal" out August 28th, 2015 on Roll Call Records.
Hear two songs from that record -- "In the Open" and "In Motion" -- on this new NoiseTrade sampler, as well as a NoiseTrade exclusive song "Brothers," an emotionally heavy track that touches on sacrifice, commitment and familial relationships
"I really value people who sacrifice for others to have a better life and to live in a better world," explains Matthew LoPresti (drummer). "As a culture we can sometimes be so self-indulgent and to take a step back and give back to those who sacrificed for us is really important."
