Performed, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Chad Thomas Johnston over a period of months in a dimly-lit basement with a low ceiling, "Stalking Stuffers" is an obsessively-crafted, lo-fi labor of love. The resulting record showcases the influence of The Innocence Mission, The Velvet Underground, Mazzy Star, Low, Iron & Wine, and England’s shoegazer movement (Slowdive, Jesus and Mary Chain). "Stalking Stuffers" is a peppermint pastiche of hushed (and sometimes cranky) holiday songs that crackle, flicker, glow, and hum like a chain of Christmas lights with a few bulbs burnt out. The quietest kind of musical electrocution.
