Throughout the ages, the church has written and sung songs to Jesus. The reason for this is simple. The good news about what Jesus has done for us on the cross—the gospel—is such good news that it makes us want to sing. And the goodness of the news of the gospel is such that it cannot be expressed in one song. So the church has continued writing new songs that help us express with greater depth our freedom, fulfillment, and focus in Christ. These “Songs of Redemption City” are an expression of our love for Christ and of our identity as His church.
As long as God's mercies are new every morning, we will continue search for new ways to respond to him with our songs of thanks and surrender. We hope these songs encourage you as you think about all that Christ has done, is doing, and will do for you.
