Kyle Harmon's debut solo project, Heart & Soul EP, was written from 2009 to 2012, recorded in Bellevue, Washington in 2012 and released in 2013. Drifting over keys-driven, analog accompaniment, Kyle's songwriting and vocal work betray a love for Motown, classic soul artists, and timeless melody. From the dichotomously upbeat sounds of "The Optimist" to the sparse rhodes and melody of "The Light", Heart & Soul EP demonstrates a solid first step in a new direction.
Heart & Soul EP was recorded with the help of Eliot Stone (drums), Andrew Mitchell (bass/drum machine), John Leckenby (guitar), Chelsea Leatherberry (vocals), Chris Coleman (cello), and Andy Meyer (sound/production/mixing/all-around genius). Album artwork by Thomas Roberts - thomaspenickroberts.com.
