We All Say Hello
Anderson, IN / Folk Rock : Indie
About
Joshua Powell found folk music in the corners of southern Florida and carried it with him to Indiana. He began to intermittently share his stories and songs in a string of Midwestern coffee shops and other rooms, until he met five remarkable individuals who were as fond of playing music as they were of robbing trains. When they decided that the former was probably a more beneficial use of their abilities, they formed a band to draw even more life from Joshua's songs. Thus, Joshua Powell & the Great Train Robbery was born. Joshua and his band play a rootsy brand of folk rock influenced by such diverse artists from James Taylor to Iron & Wine. A heartfelt blend of poignant lyrics, dynamic arrangements and a captivating songwriting, the band's music is meaningful as it is memorable.
