    About

Raised in hard-bitten Nebraska, Joshua James’ work reflects a distinctly American ache, a yearning for a big sky and an open road. Already known for his 2007 debut The Sun Is Always Brighter and 2009’s follow-up Build Me This, James returns on From The Top Of Willamette Mountain with 11 songs that hone his own singular voice and further establish him as a formidable artist. From The Top Of Willamette Mountain was produced by Richard Swift (Damien Jurado, Gardens and Villa, The Mynabirds). Striving to push his own artistic boundaries and bring in a new perspective, James sought out Swift’s raw, unique style of record making. His previous albums debuted #1 on the iTunes Folk Album Chart, as well as earning ‘Best of iTunes’ honors in the singer/songwriter category. You might also have caught “Coal War” during the opening montage for season 4 of Sons of Anarchy. James embarks on an extensive U.K. and European tour throughout October and November of 2012. Full North American tour in 2013.
