Jacob Corvidae
About
Born of rust, Jacob Corvidae is rising from his own ashes in the city of Detroit. In addition to his ongoing work in service to crafting a better world, he is occupied -- by songs that have begun spilling out of his mouth, eyes, ears, fingers and hair. They have come fast, if not always clean, and now they are offered up on an LCD plate.
While this first album, Love and Occupation, has a strong resonance with questions and explorations of the wider Occupy movement, it was conceived and half written in the Spring of 2011 before the Occupy movement existed. When Fall of 2011 rolled around, the zeitgeist was clear and work on the album began in earnest for a quick release, but it is not officially a response to the wider movement. Instead it stands as its own exploration of relationships - to ourselves, to our loved ones, to our work and to the world.
