About

For Andrea Hamilton, music has always equalled healing. Andrea began touring as a professional musician at age 16 after winning one of GMA’s Best New Song awards. She immediately made it her mission to inspire hope through uplifting pop music. After taking a two-year break to battle for her own physical health, her mission to reach those who need hope-filled music is even stronger.

Andrea’s new record, Hope and Struggle, is her 7th album as a solo artist. Having written over 70 songs in preparation to record, Hamilton says the hardest part was choosing which ones would make the cut. Picking a producer, however, was easy. Her close friend Kevin Penner (of Greenbean Recording Studios) understood her vision and sound, and not only brought the music to life through co-producing with Andrea, but appears on drums and percussion throughout the album as well.

Hope and Struggle is without a doubt Andrea Hamilton’s most personal, revealing, and creative album yet. “An Easy Life,” a gospel-flavored pop ballad with an unusual lyric, represents the main theme of the record. “Thank God I don’t have an easy life” Hamilton belts, convicted that the best and most influential people on the planet are the ones that have been through major difficulty and become great through their trials. It reminds us that having a comfortable existence is overrated. Insightful yet simple, this is the song to listen to during a bad day.

“Meant to Be” is a fun pop single for the hopeless romantic, and/or the next big chick flick. Co-written with Matt Arcaini (producer for Disciple, Kutless, I Am Empire) and Jonathan Lee (writer for Word Music), this is the catchy, light-hearted hit that will be stuck in your head for days.

A beautiful collaboration with artist Tyrone Wells, “Colors” is an acoustic, coffee-shop statement on how love brings out the best in a person.
